EARLY INVESTMENT FUND 

Supporting Local Communities Around Sanquhar II Wind Farm

As part of the construction phase of the Sanquhar II Wind Farm, an Early Investment Fund has been established to support projects and initiatives that deliver positive benefits for local communities.


The fund is available to groups, organisations, charities, businesses, and community initiatives located within the communities of:


Sanquhar • Kirkconnel • Kelloholm •

New Cumnock • Penpont

Purpose of the Fund

The Early Investment Fund aims to provide financial support for projects that contribute to the social, environmental, and economic wellbeing of the local area.


Applications are welcomed from projects that:

  • Improve or enhance community facilities
  • Support local community activities and events
  • Deliver environmental improvements or conservation initiatives
  • Promote education, training, and skills development
  • Support local charities and voluntary organisations
  • Encourage health, wellbeing, and social inclusion
  • Strengthen local businesses and community-led initiative

WHO CAN APPLY 

Applications are encouraged from:

  • Community groups and associations
  • Registered charities
  • Voluntary organisations
  • Community interest companies (CICs)
  • Local schools and educational groups
  • Local businesses
  • Community-led projects and initiatives

    Projects should demonstrate:

    • A clear benefit to the local community
    • Value for money
    • Deliverable outcomes within a reasonable timeframe
    • Strong community involvement and support
    • Alignment with local needs and priorities
