Building Careers at Sanquhar II

As part of Jones Bros Civil Engineering’s commitment to developing the next generation of talent in the industry, apprentice Charlie Chambers was given the opportunity to gain invaluable on-site experience at Sanquhar II. The Hamilton native initially spent a month working on the 44-turbine scheme, gaining hands-on experience in land surveying alongside plant operators and supporting the cabling team with practical tasks such as assessing watercourses and advising on cable routes. Charlie is now back on site until the end of the summer. His time on the project has given him real insight into civil engineering in action and reinforced his enthusiasm for renewable energy projects like Sanquhar II.

Quick Action on the C125n at Sanquhar II

At our Sanquhar II wind farm site, we recently received an email from a local resident regarding several large potholes on theC125n public road.

As with all community feedback, we took the concern seriously and moved quickly to address it. Working closely with our contractor, Jones Bros, remedial works were organised and carried out promptly to repair the affected sections of road. Additional road sweeping was also arranged to further improve the condition of the road.

The swift response ensured the road was improved and serviceable again with minimal disruption, a small but important example of how we aim to be responsible neighbours throughout construction and beyond.
